A goal is not just about what you achieve, it’s about who you become in the process.

Today I just want to say three quick things about the above statement. If you’re like most of our clients, I know you are very goal driven. That is wonderful, but there’s another side to achieving goals and that is it’s not just about the achievement, but about who you’re becoming as you achieve your goal.

Stop for a second and think about your biggest goal. Think about these three questions.

  1. While I’m in the process of reaching my goal, who am I becoming along the way as I’m achieving it?
  2. Is this goal in line with who and where I want to be 5, 10, or 20 years from now? Is it actually creating in me the behaviors, the values, the insight, the things that I want to be 20 years from now?
  3. What conscious choices am I going to make today about my goal that align with who I want to be in the future?

At Confidence Coach, we are here to support and encourage you as you achieve your dreams, goals and aspirations. Feel free to schedule a free consultation.

Here’s an interesting thought by Byron Katie. She has an idea which takes the massive dreams, goals and aspirations we have for our business, our life, and our relationships and breaks it down to a very simple interesting thought which I have taken the challenge of, and I hope you will too. We can journey on this together because accomplishing your biggest hopes and dreams in your life and business are wrapped up in this statement.

“You can have anything you want in life if you’re willing to ask 1,000 people.”

Because of the experience with our clients and their employees using the Dream Employee program, I would change her saying a little bit. The second one that I came up with (and a lot of people have said this as well, maybe just a little differently) is:

“You can have all of your dreams and goals in your life if you’re willing to help 1,000 people achieve their dreams and goals in their life.”

I think these two statements can reframe the big goals and dreams you have for the next 5, 10, 15, even 25 years into bite size steps you can take.

How does that fit into you achieving your 10 year goal?

These two mindsets or ways of approaching goals, dreams and aspirations are incredibly powerful!

Let me challenge you to apply them as well. Send me an email with your thoughts and share your results. How are you going to apply these two mindsets to your life and your business going forward? Reach out today and schedule a free call if you’d like to talk. We are here to help you make progress towards your own goals and dreams.

It’s hard to believe that 2019 is coming to an end soon and we are looking at a bright new future in 2020.

Think about your goals that you set for 2019. Did you achieve them or exceed them? Hopefully you didn’t just have your goals for this year rattling around in your head but you wrote them down at the end of last year or the beginning of this year.

I want you to do a little re-evaluation on your goals and think about setting them much higher for 2020 than you had first thought about. Why I say this is because of the theory that if we shoot for the stars and we miss them, we still accomplish a pretty amazing thing!

So I want you to aim high!!

My challenge for you is to think about your goals. If you have them written down, revise them, set them higher, double them, triple them, 10x them. You can either revise the ones you set in 2019 or feel free to make new ones. And then see what that does for your thinking and creativity. See what that does for your inspiration as you look at 2020 as being the best year in your business and personal life.

We believe that you can accomplish more than you have ever accomplished before.

But in order to do this, you have to stretch yourself — aim high, reach for the stars and see where you end up.

Where you end up is going to surprise you, and it’s going to make 2020 an amazing year.

Share with us what some of your goals are for 2020! We’d love to hear what you’ve got planned. If you’d like help in goal setting, schedule a free consultation.

Have you ever thought about the fact that everyone at your company has dreams, goals and aspirations for their life; not just you — the business owner or CEO!

The Dream Employee

We work with companies who hire us to come in and implement a process with their team members called “The Dream Employee.” The Dream Employee is basically the concept of finding out for each one of your team members what their dreams, goals and/or aspirations are for their life.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could help your team members see the connection between their job and the contribution they are making in your business with what they are after! By figuring out what really motivates them internally in their personal life and showing them the connection between their work and their goals, we find that we’re able to transform whole cultures. There is greater employee engagement and higher company morale. Your employees bring their best self to work.

Goodwill

When you know and start talking about the one, two or three things that your employees are motivated about personally, you’re depositing goodwill into them. In doing so, they come to work on Monday morning with their batteries fully charged! They come to work ready to go because they understand the connection, they feel your support, and they know that you care about what is really important to them in their life. This could be a myriad of different things — maybe it’s putting braces on their daughter’s teeth, it could be getting a second car, buying a house, a dream vacation to Italy, learning a new language, finishing a college degree, getting their GED, learning woodworking or painting, or maybe running their first half marathon. People’s dreams and goals are endless!!

If you invest time systematically into what’s important to them, they’ll start to see the connection between their life and their work. They know you care! So then when you speak about what’s important to you or what the vision or mission of the company is, they will respond in a much more positive and open way because you’ve built a relationship of caring and trust.

The other benefit of this is when you need to have those difficult conversations (i.e. performance, attitude or maybe something went wrong and needs correcting), you have made positive deposits into their life by supporting their personal goals. This helps those difficult conversations go smoother and there’s a lot less negative pushback because they know that you care about them as a person, not just about the job.

Celebrate the Wins

This also creates a culture of amazing momentum. It’s a culture where people are achieving things personally so we all celebrate (just like when the company wins)! We celebrate them as individuals as they accomplish the goals that they have set. Doing so builds unity, collaboration and a winning attitude in your business.

It is such a joy for us to work with companies and see their team members achieving their dreams and goals. If you are interested in learning more about The Dream Employee, reach out to us today and schedule a free zoom call. We’d love to talk to you about it and show you how it could work in your company to bring your employee engagement to a whole new level.

Well, we are way into 2019 and I want to talk to you about the goals that you set for 2019 for your business and your personal life. I want to throw a challenge out to you.

Think about your goals that you set for this year. Hopefully you don’t just have them rattling around in your head but you wrote them down either before 2018 ended or at the beginning of 2019.

I want you to do a little re-evaluation on your goals and think about setting them much higher for 2019 than you had first thought about. Why I say this is because of the theory that if we shoot for the stars and we miss them, we still accomplish a pretty amazing thing!

So my challenge for you is to think about your goals. If you have them written down, revise them, set them higher, double them, triple them, 10x times them. And then see what that does for your thinking and creativity. See what that does for your inspiration as you look at 2019 as being the best year in your business, in your personal life, accomplishing more than you have ever accomplished. But in order to do this, you have to stretch yourself out there and reach for the stars and see where you end up.

Where you end up is going to surprise you, and it’s going to make 2019 an amazing year.

Share with us what some of your goals are for 2019!

Make it a great day.
