What are the little things that you are doing right now that in the future will lead to the big things in your life?

I really love this saying by Robert Brault: “Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”

Here’s a list of little things that I’ve compiled for myself that I believe in the future will end up being the big things:

  1. Saying I love you daily.
  2. Sharing a hug.
  3. Saying please and thank you.
  4. Listening intently to the person in front of me.
  5. Learning something new today.
  6. Being thankful.
  7. Smiling.
  8. Doing meaningful work.
  9. Having a great conversation.
  10. Speaking words of encouragement.
  11. Sending handwritten notes.
  12. Living out my faith and beliefs.
  13. Singing songs that give me joy.
  14. Walking into somebody’s life when everybody else walks out.

These are just a few of the things that I believe are little today but in the long term will be the big things in my life and in my legacy.

What are some little things in your life that you feel will make a huge difference in the long run? Please let me know at scott@confidencecoach.org or schedule a call to share your thoughts.

Today I want to give you a little snippet of advise about the best way to predict the future of your business going forward.

First, you need to ask yourself the question of how much potential growth do you think your current team (your “first” customers or your employees) can make over the next year, three years, and/or five years?

Because how they grow and develop in their skillsets, abilities, collaboration and how fully engaged they are in your company is going to tell you and predict exactly where your business will be three to five years from now.

So sit back and really take a look at your team. Start thinking about your people. Think about what the growth track is for each individual, and then also as a team or group. How can you assist them to become better individuals and also better team players? What can you do to foster more of this? When you see where the growth trend is, then you will know exactly where your business is going to be three to five years from now.

If you need help in figuring out how you can improve your employee engagement and really want to pour into your people on an individual basis, let us know. We have a program called The Dream Employee that vastly improves employee engagement in companies by really touching the lives of the individual.

I like to focus on the positive, but if you’ve ever made a mistake in your business in the last month, quarter or year, you know how hard it is to stay positive sometimes. Here’s a way that I have learned to think about mistakes in a manner that will affect your future so that you can learn from it.

In last week’s blog I said there was Learning or Winning Only!! If you’ve ever made a mistake though, think of it in terms of part of the “learning” process. Think of mistakes as the tuition that we pay as business owners. It’s the entrance fee or tuition we pay for learning.

We can learn how to win the next time we run across the same situation. If you look at mistakes as the tuition for your future greatness, it is an opportunity for you to continue to learn, win and grow.

To learn more about what we do take a look at our website, leave a message if you have questions or subscribe to us on YouTube.
