Fear is a feeling; it is not a fact.

Just a thought for you today.

I’ve been noticing two different things with people.

Number one, people that seem to be controlled or manipulated by fear are people that are watching an inordinate amount of news.

And, the second thing I’m noticing is that people that have this fear are business people that are more concerned about their competition than they are about what they’re doing in their own business.

At this time, remember this fear is a feeling.

Let me restate that again:  fear is a feeling.

It is not a fact.

Be careful and be intentional about what you watch, what you listen to, who you follow, and how you’re investing your time.

Invest in things that are factual.

It’s the perfect time to count your blessings and be grateful for your business, your employees and your customers.

When we are grateful, what we are grateful for grows and expands. It increases and we have more of it.

Make a list of what you are grateful for and share it with us. I bet you will be surprised at all the good things that have come from this pandemic and this difficult season.

It’s a matter of changing your perspective and looking for the things that we have to be thankful for.

Focus on what you do have, not what you don’t have.

What are you doing now that seems difficult in your business; but yet, you know that by doing the difficult, it will make the future of your business easier or better?

Difficult now means your business will be easier one year, two years or three years from now.

Have you had to make difficult decisions regarding your business or your employees? Have you had to create a brand new product or idea? Have you totally pivoted your business in some way?

Have you really thought about “why” you’ve been willing to do these difficult things now?

I know that one of those reasons “why” is because you want a better future. You are willing to change, be flexible, be creative so that things will be better a year or two years down the road.

You are an entrepreneur, a leader, an innovator, and we believe in you. Keep up the hard work. It’s all worth it.

Last week’s blog was about making choices and how your perspective of what you think about affects you and your business. During this season I know that a lot of us have been either doing things differently, learning new things and/or have had to pivot to keep our businesses going.

These were a couple of questions that I asked you last week.

  • What did you learn during this season that you want to keep doing in your business?
  • What did you learn that you are going to omit or get rid of?

Make two lists and submit them to us. We’d love to hear what you are going to keep and do more of and what you are going to get rid of.
