Today I wanted to give you a little testimony from someone who participated in the The Dream Employee that we provide as a service to companies. I know you’ve heard me talk about it before. However, today, I wanted to talk about it not just as a concept of how it works or what it does, but rather share a real testimony of someone who participated in the program. This is their personal result for themselves and their organization.

So this is how it played out. About three years ago we presented the idea of The Dream Employee to a company. We had all the team members participate in it. Each team member filled out a card. They wrote down 3-5 goals or dreams that they wanted to achieve for themselves. One young lady who participated had a goal to go back and finish her college degree. Her second goal was to buy her first home.

Now, remember this was three years ago. Because of the way things rolled out and happened we have only been following up via email and some other support that we have. This particular person we had not seen in three years.

Testimonial

A couple of months ago we had another meeting at the organization. To our surprise this same woman walks in. In her hand was her Dream Employee card that she had filled out 3 years ago. She wanted to show us that she had not only finished her degree, but she had changed departments and was actually working in the department she had always wanted to work in. Also, she had just recently bought her first home.

She showed us her Dream Employee card. It was filled out with her goals, the steps she had taken, and what she had done. She was raving about how this process had helped her; not only in her personal life but also in her career. She feels like she contributes to her organization in a much bigger way now.

This is just a cool little story but one of many that we hear about all the time. We hope this shows you the power of this process within an organization. Reach out to us and schedule a free consultation if you’d like to hear more stories or would like us to demonstrate The Dream Employee in your company.

Start your New Year off engaging your employees in a whole new way — believing in them and helping them achieve their hopes, dreams and aspirations.

It’s hard to believe that 2019 is coming to an end soon and we are looking at a bright new future in 2020.

Think about your goals that you set for 2019. Did you achieve them or exceed them? Hopefully you didn’t just have your goals for this year rattling around in your head but you wrote them down at the end of last year or the beginning of this year.

I want you to do a little re-evaluation on your goals and think about setting them much higher for 2020 than you had first thought about. Why I say this is because of the theory that if we shoot for the stars and we miss them, we still accomplish a pretty amazing thing!

So I want you to aim high!!

My challenge for you is to think about your goals. If you have them written down, revise them, set them higher, double them, triple them, 10x them. You can either revise the ones you set in 2019 or feel free to make new ones. And then see what that does for your thinking and creativity. See what that does for your inspiration as you look at 2020 as being the best year in your business and personal life.

We believe that you can accomplish more than you have ever accomplished before.

But in order to do this, you have to stretch yourself — aim high, reach for the stars and see where you end up.

Where you end up is going to surprise you, and it’s going to make 2020 an amazing year.

Share with us what some of your goals are for 2020! We’d love to hear what you’ve got planned. If you’d like help in goal setting, schedule a free consultation.

Recently I’ve been doing coaching workshops at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club which is where Tiger Woods won the U.S. Amateur in 1996. The Tiger Den is a room filled with spectacular pictures and memories of Tiger in action. As I look around this meeting room, one of the things that stands out to me is the amount of focus that Tiger had in his career to get to where he was at such a young age.

The idea I want you to think about today is — what is your focus in your business? Do you have a bunch of distractions that are keeping you from the focus that you need in order to achieve the results you want from your business?

If so, what are those distractions? Be aware and conscious of them so you can eliminate them.

What is taking you away from the focus of what you really need to do that makes money for you in your business?

Ask yourself these questions to give you focus:

  • What creates value?
  • Where do you want to go with your business and what will help you get there?
  • Name two or three things that you need to really focus on to grow your business this next year.

I challenge you to begin to eliminate all the things from your work or business activity, your leadership, and/or your company that really aren’t productive to making money for you or creating value for the company. We all have choices of how we react or respond to situations. This is a choice you can make now.

Focus on what works.

Stay focused on the two or three things that will get you the desired results you want — just like Tiger did.

Tiger focused on his short game, his long game, and his driving. He practiced these things consistently and kept at it. Golf was his sport. Tiger wasn’t out there competing or being seriously involved in other sports or activities. His main focus was this one arena, and the rest is history.

As I’ve said before — think about your thinking. Stay focused on what really matters most in your business and eliminate (or delegate) the rest. Schedule a free consultation if you need help narrowing down what you need to focus on to be successful.

As the business owner, manager, or CEO of your company, have you ever thought of yourself as being the Hero to your team and your employees? You might ask why this is important. Well, I’m here to explain to you why now is as good a time as any to do so!

Part of being a Hero to your employees is actually protecting the dreams and goals that they have for their life, their family, and for their future. By actually contributing to, assisting with, believing in, and helping them to achieve their own personal dreams and goals, they in turn are much happier at work and thus help you in working, creating and achieving the goals that you have for your business too. They go hand in hand.

Realize that the people that work in your company are not just employees, but each one is a unique and special individual that has their own dreams, goals and aspirations. Consider it a privilege when you can help them to become the best version of themselves.

So the question today is really how effectively are you being a Hero to the people that work in your company. These individuals come to work every day, they serve your customers, and they create value within your organization. How can you best serve and encourage them to be the best that they can be?

It’s hard to believe that we are almost to the end of the year. Thanksgiving has come and gone and we are already in December.

Have you looked back over the past year and evaluated what happened — both the good and the bad? Now is a good time to do an After Action Review of 2019. We usually do an after action review for events, presentations, hires, meetings, etc. However, today I want you to look back over the year and see what you come up with in regards to your business. Ask yourself these questions.

  1. What went right?
  2. What worked well? Were there things that stood out to you or maybe you got feedback on?
  3. What needs improving?
  4. What did you learn?
  5. What was the biggest take away?
  6. How can you make 2020 the best year ever?

Just a little food for thought as you head into 2020. If you’d like help in reviewing what went right, what went wrong and how you can improve on and make 2020 your best year schedule a free consultation now.
